GREETINGS FROM LEADERSHIP NIAGARA

It is an honor to serve at the helm of the oldest community leadership development program in New York State.  For twenty-six years, Leadership Niagara has proven its value as a important resource in developing leaders and impacting economic development in the Niagara region.

Leadership Niagara has cultivated over 1000 leaders through our program since 1984 and we are members of a network of 1500 community leadership programs nationwide.

In a time of economic uncertainty and challenges in our daily lives, we look to leaders for solutions.  We look to leaders to bring together the right people to generate ideas and create results to improve the quality of our lives.  Our important community-building role became very evident this year as we reflected on our history and took a strategic look at the next 25 years for Niagara County.

In 2009, Leadership Niagara's board of directors under the chairmanship of Christine O'Hara gave our organization a fresh look and fresh start. We pursued a new and compelling mission, vision, strategy, core values, new logo, rebranding, and plan to maximize our greatest asset - our leaders.  We feel this effort has helped us to better position ourselves internally and externally and the feedback has been positive.

We are committed to our new mission and will work hard to provide a bright future for the Niagara region and to unite leaders in our towns, cities, county,  across the state, and across our border.  Our new core values are our guiding principles and will create a culture in our organization that is inclusive, enthusiastic about our region's potential, willing to challenge the status quo, and ready to capture the economic possibilities available.

We want to thank the board, class members, class speakers, and sponsors who inspire us everyday and who have helped us to build this organization together and to make it the best it can be. 

Our goal in 2010 is "results" for our community and we encourage you to step forward and join our leadership.
